LORD HOWE ISLAND (NSW)
Just had a perfect week at Lord Howe Island - didnt cook at all. Had beautiful Sour Dough Bread at one of the combined shop/restaurants and have put some starter on which should have me cooking by the end of the week.
I took a lot more photos of foods we ate and the scenery if you like looking at holiday photos you can find them at Lord Howe Island Holiday November 2010
Oh, I'd LOOOOVE to go there! It ALL sounds good - not just the food!!
ReplyDeleteHappy travels!!
The walks and birds are many and varied. Lots of limitations how many live there and number of visitors and cars :) 25 speed limit :) most ride bikes or walk during the day. Mainly due to lack of street lights there is a free shuttle to the various restaurants and return. The only downer is the cost of food and 14K restriction on main luggage. I noticed some had large carry on bags :). Advice would be to take small amounts of what you like in clip lock bags in your carry on. No computer (internet cafe) or mobile and some places no tv. I enjoyed walking at times in what seemed like a jungle and listening to the many bird calls.
ReplyDeleteI love sourdough and can just imagine the aroma of the bread in that shop. I'm new here but really enjoy your blog. I'll be back often. Have a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it Mary. They made some nice cakes as well :)
