100% WHOLE WHEAT BREAD
ADAPTED FROM THE RECIPE IN THE HBIN5 BOOK
The Zucchini Flat Bread was cooked with heat beads outdoors. It didn't brown on the bottom as well as I wanted so I simply put all the beads on the bottom and cooked it a further ten minutes. I then ended up with a crisp bottom which I like. The flavour of the topping was great and it tasted good both hot and cold.
The Algerian Flat Bread I found the amount of olive oil made the topping too liquid. It all worked in the end but if I make it again I would just gradually add olive oil till it was a consistency of thick mustard.
The Wholewheat loaf I felt turned out perfect.
The Bread Braid is now open go to Big Black Dog and see the results from others.
You've been very busy, but the breads you made look delicious. I hope you had a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteLove the looks of the Zucchini Flat Bread. It is 5 am now and I am starving!!! Wish I had a piece with my morning coffee.
ReplyDeleteI found the Zucchini Flat Bread very nice cold. The topping is moist, I did sprinkle it at first with a combination of chilli and garlic salt but the seconds I left plain.
ReplyDeleteYummy!! Still full from supper but looks so
ReplyDeletedelicious, could run out to the kitchen and
make up the flat breads. Thanks for sharing.
Mmmm...I'm going to make the flatbreads this weekend. Can't wait. Thanks for the tips. That whole wheat bread looks really good too.
ReplyDeleteYUMMY!!! Love your outdoor cooking!!! Went to your website but couldn't find the like button :(
ReplyDeleteLove the video, especially the fades and stuff. So heat beads are charcoal. Just shows we ARE separated by a common language.
ReplyDeleteI put a like button on, I am learning all of this as well of the bread, its up under my profile picture.
ReplyDeleteGuff there is more than one description that is different, ridiculous when we all speak English :)
isnt it! I think our exposure to your movies and tv shows make it easier for us to work out the differences. Someone researched the cup measurement and said usa and australian ones are different but I figure a cups a cup and the ratio of liquid to dry is the same :)
I really liked the video. Very creative. I can't wait to make my zucchini flatbread "pizza". I hope it looks as wonderful as everyone else's does.
ReplyDeleteIt tastes very good as well Melanie :) I enjoyed a piece cold later in the day.
ReplyDeleteI also had to bake the zucchini flatbread to get it to a crunchy state on the bottom. Soggy would just not have been as good. Wish my regular bread loaf would have turned out like yours. Mine was flat as a pancake...apparently I'm going to have to try adding more flour or less water in the future. It was a sticky, gooey mess!
ReplyDeleteGreat video and your breads look tasty.
