TESS TURNS 40

We had an outdoors party for Tess' 40th it was a beautiful night, the theme was "White Knight".  Most of the guests wore white.  It was fun to meet again some of her school friends I dont see much and their children who are all growing up fast.  We also had some relatives visit who live a distance away and we dont see much with the busy lives everyone lives.  The catering was kept simple so everyone could relax and enjoy the company.  As I was busy early I didnt take as many photos as I would have liked.  Above is a photo of Tess and her daughter Zoe.

We glazed a ham with  maple syrup brown sugar and pineapple juice and studded it with cloves the night before and then baked it.
The boys cooked the rest of the meat on the BBQ.  This was served with salad and rolls.

The birthday cake was organised by Tess' sister Jenny who also got the job of cutting it up.  It not only looked pretty it tasted good as well.  It was a mud cake. You cant have an Australian party without Pavlova and we had two of those topped with mixed berries.  The children ran on the beach wearing glow sticks and later in the night the possums visited to see what all the noise was.  The children are all saying it was the best party they have ever been to.
